Robert Gerl joined the NOVA hockey coaching staff at the start of the 2014-15 season and brings over 10 years of hockey experience. Gerl is one of the original founding members of the NOVA program and played on the team the during the first two years.
After graduation from NOVA with an associates in business administration, he transferred to Virginia Commonwealth where he played on the VCU club hockey team for two years. While at VCU, Gerl studied risk and insurance with a concentration in financial planning before transferring to a program within the University of London. Currently, Gerl is working on his bachelor of science in economics and finance from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
Off the ice, Gerl works as an investment advisor with seven years of financial industry experience and is taking courses towards the CFP designation in addition to his academic studies. Gerl is a USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach.
