ANNANDALE – The Northern Virginia Community College Overwatch Esports team continued its winning streak Wednesday with a pair of 2-0 victories over Region 4-B foes ECPI and Shenandoah.
Since the start of the Overwatch season the Nighthawks are 7-0, and have won all 12 games they have played during the 2018-19 campaign.
"I am extremely proud of my team for making this milestone, but there are a lot of rungs still to climb on the ladder," Director of Esports Chris Gaul said. 'They [the players] should be extremely proud but not satisfied with this accomplishment. We have many things we need to improve on and lots of work to do between now and the end of the season."
The Nighthawks have one regular season match left, which will be against Harrisburg University of Science and Technology Thursday. NOVA defeated the 5-2 Flying Dutchmen back in January in consecutive games.
Following Wednesday's match up against Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, the Nighthawks begin the postseason in a single elimination regional tournament. If NOVA wins the region tournament it will be seeded in a 64-team bracket that concludes with a national championship in early April.
