ANNANDALE – Bilan Hajinur cut the Northern Virginia Community College women's basketball teams deficit down early, but Cecil was too much for the Nighthawks as the Seahawks were a winner 80-29 Wednesday evening.

NOVA sees its record go to 10-14 this season and returns to action Tuesday when Frederick comes to Ernst Gymnasium for a 5 p.m. tipoff.

Hajinur was the only double-digit scorer for the Nighthawks, as she poured in a team-high 12 points. Taylor Lynch, meanwhile, finished the evening with seven points, and pulled down a team-best eight rebounds.

The stifling Seahawks defense, meanwhile, held Jalita Montgomery, who is the Region 20 Division II leading scorer to just three points. Montgomery has 911 career points and needs 89 points to break the 1000-point mark.
