Means first Nighthawk to cross the line

ANNAPOLIS – Tyler Means finished in 53rd place for the Northern Virginia Community College cross country team in Saturday's 6-kilometer Navy Invitational.

Means had a time of 27 minutes, 07.34 seconds, which is good for eighth all-time in the Nighthawk record books. The winner of the race was Nuria Tillo-Prats (22:21.10) of East Carolina, who helped the Pirates win the individual title as well.

The Sterling, Va., native was less than a minute from ending her morning in the top 50, as Kaitlyn Leister of NCAA Division II Millersville was 50th and Hannah Lyon, along with Renee Nosko of Navy closed out the morning in 51st and 52nd respectively.

The Nighthawks are back in action Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Hornet Harrier in Winchester, Va.
