FREDERICK, Md. – Tyler Means finished 26th and set a personal-best time of 24 minutes, 58.70 seconds at Saturday's 6-kilometer Hood College Open to lead the Northern Virginia Community College cross country team.

Meggan Grams won the individual title, while Eastern was the team champion with 28 points besting second place Salisbury by 18.

Means, whose previous best 6k time was 25:52 was nearly a minute faster Saturday and now has the third fastest time in NOVA history. Her mark of 24:58.70 was just one second behind Heather Mwitanti, who posted a 24:57.30 time in 2014.

Aziza Abdela Hasenss, meanwhile, finished 100th and clocked in with a time of 31:49.40.
